Georgia E. Crawford

Georgia E. Crawford died September 29, 2009. Funeral services will be held 5:00PM on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Pastor John Kinser officiating. Visitation will follow the service at Hart's at the Cupola. Burial will be in Andersonville National Cemetery on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 730 Peachtree Street, Room 207, Atlanta, GA 30365. Mrs. Crawford was born to the late Marion Young Herring and the late Mattie Lee Willard Herring. She was an avid artist and reader. Mrs. Crawford also was an active and astute student of politics both locally and nationally as a result of her extensive travel. As a military wife, she traveled the world spending three years in Hawaii, three years in Madrid, Spain, six years in Washington DC and various other locations while accompanying her husband's career postings. Mrs. Crawford is survived by her husband of 64 years, William A. Crawford, Col. USAF (Ret.) of Macon; two daughters, Donna Crawford Havrilla (John L.) of Warner Robins, and K. Denise Crawford of Stuart, FL; two grandchildren, Justin Crawford Nearing of Boynton Beach, FL, and Kristen Denise Nearing of Boston, MA; and a brother, Marion Lee Herring (Dianne) of Fayetteville, GA.
