George Estus Youmans, 75, of 1151 Oakcliff Road, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 3:00PM at Vineville United Methodist Church with Dr. Jimmy Asbell and Dr. William Oliver officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the sanctuary. The family may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. Mr. Youmans, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a carrier pilot in Viet Nam. He earned an MBA from the University of Virginia. Mr. Youmans was the owner of Youmans Chevrolet in Macon for twenty-five years. He was a 1995 finalist for Time Quality Dealer of the Year and a past president of the Georgia Automobile Dealers Association. He was a member and former President of Idle Hour Country Club, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Vineville United Methodist Church for many decades, a Foundation Trustee for Wesley Glen and a board member of the Salvation Army. He was very active in the fund raising efforts for Magnolia Manor. Mr. Youmans was awarded the Hall of Fame Philanthropy Award from the United Methodist Association. Mr. Youmans is survived by his wife, Anne, of Macon; son, George Youmans, Jr. (Laura) of Macon; daughters, Cleveland Gaynor (Art) of Fayetteville, Georgia and Anne Brooks Rudzki (J.R.) of Bethesda, Maryland; grandchildren, Gus Youmans, Cali Gaynor, Jackie Gaynor, Jen Gaynor, Bobby Rudzki, Juliet Rudzki and Lucy Rudzki; brother, Bubba Youmans (Janice) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Gina Cogswell of Atlanta.
