George Steven Orluck, age 98, passed away at Carlyle Place in Macon, Georgia on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. A private family funeral will be held. A Celebration of Life reception will be held 2:30PM-4:00PM Monday, February 12, 2018 at Carlyle Place in "The Grande". In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charitable organization of your choice. Born in Killdeer, North Dakota on April 16, 1919, Mr. Orluck received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Alma College, Alma, Michigan. His college years were interrupted by World War II, in which he served as a reconnaissance officer in the Army Air Corps in Burma and India in the war against Japan. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Thereafter, he went on to complete his college degree. His first job was at Chrysler Motors. From there, he moved on to Arkwright-Boston Mutual Insurance Company, where he retired as a senior officer after 35 years. Mr. Orluck and his family were prior residents of Scarsdale, New York and New Canaan, Connecticut. He and his wife, Carol, retired to The Landings on Skidaway Island, Savannah, Georgia. There, he was able to pursue his year-round love of golf. They moved to Macon in 2007. He was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church and served as an elder at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, New York. Mr. Orluck is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carol; his son, Steven, his daughter, Jan, and his youngest son, Jeffrey and grandchildren, Dylan and Jessica Orluck.
