George Mattox

George Mattox, 69, of Macon, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Chapel on Cherry Street with the Reverend Craig Holmes officiating.  The family will greet friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Son of the late Marcus and Esther Irene Bennett Mattox, Mr. Mattox loved his dog, Bella, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, riding his side-by-side with his best friend, Barry Warren, going to the lake, and listening to classic rock and country music.  Mr. Mattox was preceded in death by his wife, C. Lynne Mattox and brother, Jerry Wayne Mattox.

Mr. Mattox is survived by sons, Bryan Mattox (Emily) of Byron, Georgia, and Daniel A. Mattox (Crystal) of Macon; grandchildren, Isaac Nye, Abigail Mattox, and Adelyn Mattox; brother, Kent Mattox (Christine) of McDonough, Georgia; sister-in-law, Cheryl Mattox of Augusta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bella, whom he adored.

Hart’s on Cherry Street, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 has charge of the arrangements.
