George Alton Harvey

George Alton Harvey, 87, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the Historic Sanctuary of Gray United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00AM with the Reverend John Haney officiating. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Macon, Georgia. The family will greet friends from 5:00PM - 7:00PM on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry St, Macon, GA 31201. Mr. Harvey was the owner of AS Hatcher Marine for 37 years. He was the former president of the Kiwanis Club of Macon, a member of Gray United Methodist Church, and a member of Macon Boat Club. Mr. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, gardening, sharing his camellias, and was an avid runner. Mr. Harvey is survived by his son, Alton Harvey (Deborah) of Milledgeville; son, Robbie Harvey (Joette) of Gray; daughter, Polly Wells (Bobby) of Macon; sister; sister, Bobbie Jernigan (Van) of Saint Simons, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Sue Conley (Mike) of Tallahassee, Florida, Kathy Hatcher of Richmond Hill, Georgia.
