Gary Glenn Pyles, 69, of 21 Bartow Point Drive, Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia with the Reverend Creede Hinshaw officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the funeral home and will hold a reception at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, immediately following the burial. Mr. Pyles, a native of Macon, Georgia, was the son of the late Glenn and Christine Pyles. He graduated from Lanier High School and Georgia Tech, graduating as a civil engineer, and received a MBA degree from Georgia State. After working as an engineer for Sea Pines Corporation, he founded and owned for more than twenty years his own land development company, Annapolis Development. He was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Pyles was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in Savannah. Mr. Pyles is survived by his wife, Joellen Cooper-Pyles of Savannah, Georgia; sister, Glenda Pyles Thompson (Harry) of Macon; brother, Jack Pyles (Melody) of Macon; nephew, Brad Pyles (Natalie) of Macon; nieces, Misti Stanley (Robert) and Mandy Allen (Mark), both of Macon, Christa Clapsadle (Steve) of McDonough and MaryBeth Dowdy (Brad) of Macon; parents-in-law, Edna and Bernard Cooper of Hahira, Georgia.
