G. Dexter Young

Milledgeville-G. Dexter Young, 68, died Monday, April 11, 2011. Graveside services will be at 12:00PM on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Baldwin Memorial Gardens with Sonny Seneker officiating. Visitation will be between 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3525 Piedmont Road, NE Building 6, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Mr. Young loved golf and was an avid University of Georgia fan. He was a member of Old Capitol Car Club. Mr. Young was predeceased by his son, Marcus H. Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Young of Milledgeville; son, George Dexter "Dex" Young of Milledgeville; two grandchildren, Marcus Hoyt Smith, Jr. (Nikki) of Macon, and Michael T. Smith of Macon; two great grandchildren, Mallory Nicole Smith of Macon, and Marcus Hoyt Smith, III of Macon; and two brothers, David K. Young (Brenda) of Rock Spring, Georgia, and Dean H. Young (Judy) of Perry, Georgia.
