March 30, 1959 — January 10, 2018

Freddie Dwayne Dawson, age 58, passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness. Dwayne, or "Joe Willie" as he was known to his close friends, was born in Macon, Georgia to LaVerne Horton and the late Freddie Dawson. Dwayne loved his family and friends; The "Dawgs", Falcons, Braves, and Nascar; Daytona Beach; and Rock-n-Roll. Dwayne is survived by: Mother, LaVerne Horton; Sister, Teresa Avery Rand (Bob); Nieces: Haley Trager (Jason), Anna Blount; Nephew: Ken Blount; Great niece and nephew: Camryn and Kyle. Dwayne is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Hart's Mortuary at 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Ga. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fort Valley. A Celebration of Life drop-in reception will also be held in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, January 15th from 5:00-8:00 PM at 7776 Mount Ranier Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32256. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, 765 Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
