Franklin G. Perkins

Franklin G. Perkins, 77, passed away at his home Saturday, September 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 30 at Mabel White Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road, with Reverend Brian Scott and Dr. Lee Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with military honors. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to Mabel White Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Perkins was an active member of Mabel White Baptist Church since 1959. He was a member of the J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class, an usher, and a deacon. He was a logistics manager and logistics contractor for Robins Air Force Base and L3 Communications for over forty years. Mr. Perkins served in the United States Air Force for four years and three months. He was a member of the Middle Georgia Football Officials Association for 38 years and served several times as president. Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Joyce Perkins; daughters: Jenny Perkins Cook (Chap), Jan Perkins Costley (Curtis), and Jill Perkins Scott (Brian); sister: Peggy Perkins Pruitt (Cecil); eleven beloved grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
