Frank Deloach

Frank DeLoach, 80, of Macon, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Andy Oxford officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment following the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Rd., Macon, GA 31210.

Frank was born in rural Georgia to Rev. Hugh and Lillian DeLoach on January 3, 1940. Less than ten years later, he would meet his lifelong sweetheart, Carol Jones, who he would marry in 1961.  After moving to Atlanta in the late 1950's, his interest in the emerging technology of computers brought him to work for the United States Government, where he would remain for 30 years.

In Atlanta, he enjoyed raising his two children, attending church services, and woodworking.  He created many beautiful wooden works of art and toys, treasured by his loved ones.  Retirement brought him back to his roots in middle-Georgia where he enjoyed the simple things, like cutting the grass and taking his dog for a walk through the woods.  Frank was a proud and active member of the Gideon organization.  But his favorite “appointment” for many years has been his Tuesday morning Fellowship Breakfasts at Shoney’s.

We will miss his gentle smile and quiet kindness.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Carol Jones DeLoach, his son, Michel DeLoach, his parents, Rev. Hugh & Lillian DeLoach, and his siblings, Faye Brewer, Joe DeLoach, Linda Robertson, & Harry DeLoach.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle (David) Dennison; grandchildren, Christy Harper, Devon (Chris) Boyd, & Robyn (BJ) England; great-grandchildren, Madeline Holmes & Christopher Boyd; and sister, Sandra DeLoach.
