Mrs. William Lee Wood, Jr. passed away Monday, April 06, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Christ Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The Reverend Joseph Shippen will officiate. A native of Bonham, Texas, Mrs. Wood lived in Macon for 89 years. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Richard Bush and the late Sarah McLain Bush and was the former Frances Elizabeth Bush. She attended Randolph-Macon Woman's college in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated from Wesleyan College. Mrs. Wood was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of Georgia, the Junior League of Macon, Inc. and the Rivoli Garden Club. She was recently predeceased by her husband, William Lee Wood, Jr.; and her son, John Parham Holmes, III. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah "Sally" Holmes Smith (Crocker) of Macon; daughter-in-law, Pam Holmes of Auburn, Alabama; five grandchildren, John Parham Holmes, IV (Laryessa) of Hixson, Tennessee, William Bruton Holmes (Anne) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Elizabeth Winchester Heim (Luke) of Marietta, Georgia, Sarah Winchester Woods (Jason) of Savannah, Georgia, and Hunter Crocker Smith (Jessica Salter) of Macon; and eight great grandchildren.
