Frances Lila T. Durden

Frances Lila T. Durden, 95, of Macon, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00AM at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mrs. Durden was born on February 20, 1921 in Dooly County. She was the wife of the late Charlie Durden and the daughter of the late Verna Brown and George R. Tharpe. Mrs. Durden was predeceased by her siblings, George Tharpe, Sadie Ozmore, June Fleming, Cora Smith and Ralph Tharpe and her grandson, Chuck Tharpe. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and was employed by Macon Shirt Factory and Bibb Mill. Mrs. Durden is survived by her son, Mitchell "Jabo" Tharpe (Margaret) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; her daughter, Martha T. Hairston (John) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Entrekin, Theresa Quinn, Dawn Warnock, Shawn Hairston and Brian Tharpe; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
