Frances Marie Rampley Evans

Frances Marie Rampley Evans, 95, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Hart’s Chapel at the Cupola.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be private at Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville, Georgia.

She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Rampley and Ila Lora Charles Rampley, both of whom were Evangelists and church planters.

Frances was a woman of many talents.  She played the piano, mandolin, accordion, guitar, banjo, and ukulele. Her remarkable talent extended beyond playing instruments, as she had the ability to play any song by ear, remembering not just the melody, but every word of the lyrics. She also wrote her own songs and poetry. In addition to her musical talents, Frances was a talented floral designer and crocheter. She created beautiful, crocheted items for her family. Her creations will continue to bring warmth and comfort to her family, serving as enduring reminders of her love and devotion.

Frances is survived by her children, Patsy Evans Strozier of Macon, Georgia, Joe Milton Evans Jr. (Connie) of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Linda Evans Couey (Mick) of Macon, Georgia, and Tina Marie Bowen (George) of Tallahassee, Florida; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and sixteen great great-grandchildren; and her stepdaughter, Charlotte E. Wright of Barnesville, Georgia.
