Frances Mitchell Culbreth

Macon-Frances Mitchell Culbreth died Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00AM at Hart's at the Cupola with the Reverend J. Buren Goss officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2010 between 6:00-8:00PM at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.

Mrs. Culbreth was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church. She was employed at Georgia Bank and Trust and was head of the proof department. She was a longtime resident at Morningside Assisted Living for eleven years. Mrs. Culbreth was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Franklin Culbreth and son, Ellis Jarrell Shaw, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Terry Mitchell Shaw (Wanda) of Griffin; daughters, Angela Culbreth Edwards (Brian) of Forsyth and Carole Culbreth Michael (Tommy) of Rocky Face, GA; her best friend and beloved sister, Martha Mitchell Griffin of Macon; brother, Freeman Mitchell of South Carolina; grandchildren, Brittany Shaw Thoms (Andy) of Athens, Sandyn Shaw Colwell (Elic) of Washington DC, and Shannon Edwards Ray (Shane) of Macon; great grandchildren, Andrew Carson Thoms of Athens and Chandler Ray of Macon; several nieces and nephews; and her Morningside Assisted Living family.
