Macon- Frances LaVada McDaniel Allen, 92, died March 6, 2011. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2:30PM at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church or to the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Allen, daughter of the late Oscar Powell McDaniel, Sr. and the late Avalene McDaniel, was born March 9, 1918. She was predeceased by her only son, Ray Allen and by her brother, O. P. McDaniel. Mrs. Allen was a loyal member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church for 74 years, having served as President of the Solomon-Fellowship Sunday School Class, a member of the Young at Heart Senior Group, participated in the Gazelle Ministry and was a member of the Trinity Circle. Mrs. Allen was retired from Robins Air Material Area where she worked for many years as an inventory management specialist. She was a former Cherry Blossom Senior Queen. Mrs. Allen is survived by two granddaughters, Lisa Allen Gammage and Kelly Allen Martin; one great-grandchild, Grayson Gammage and Janie Nixon, her long-term caregiver who added years to her life by her devoted service.
