Fonda M. Uptagrafft

Fonda M. Uptagrafft, 79, OF Macon, died Saturday, November 5, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola with the Reverend Len Woodard officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the Cupola. Burial will be private at Macon Memorial Park. Fonda was born in Macon to the late Edward Lyman Ellis and the late Dorothy Frances McGinnis Ellis. She was a longtime member of Thomaston Road Church of Christ. Fonda was a retired paraprofessional with the Bibb County Board of Education and later was a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association. She was a former employee of Belk Matthews. Fonda loved German culture, loved to travel, especially to Tybee Island, and loved to listen to Elvis Presley.

Fonda is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Ann Devenney, and Roxanne Uptagrafft Oppy (McLain), both of Macon; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Aeowyn Selman, Forrest Michael Christopher Selman, Constance Ellen Crosby (Brett), and Hayden Todd Sermons, all of Macon; and a niece, Kari Brooks (Scott) of Lizella.

Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210, has charge of arrangements.
