Floyd Venson (Vince) Caldwell

Floyd Venson (Vince) Caldwell jubilantly met Christ Jesus, his Lord and Savior and was rewarded Heavenly Eternal Rest Friday, January 25, 2013. Born January 17, 1951 to W.F. (Bill) and Cherry Oliver Caldwell. He was raised in South Macon and lived on Canterbury Road and attended Joseph N. Neel Elementary School and graduated from Willingham Boys High School, Class of 69. From 1971 - 1974, Vince proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He loved his great country and was proud to be an American and Vietnam Veteran. Over the past 20 years, Vince faced many health challenges and in 2010 was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins CNS Lymphoma. In October 2012, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. His generosity and love continues as he is an anatomical donor for Mercer School of Medicine. Vince exemplified the love of Christ in his daily life. His priorities were in order. When recently asked, how he continued on in life he replied "By covering my life in daily prayer and living one day at a time." Vince is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ronita Thompson Caldwell, daughters, Allison Willis (Jay), Emily Willis, and Alex Willis, Shannon Caldwell Scarborough(Clay). His sunshine and his moonbeams, granddaughters, Ragan Leigh Scarborough "Boog", and Chloe Mychael Scarborough "Bit". Big Dad will always love you. His surviving parent, Cherry Oliver Caldwell. A memorial service will be hosted by his immediate family on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Hwy, Gray, Ga. Family will welcome guests and extended family beginning at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pets For Vets, inc.(pets-for-vets.com) or Pets for Vets, 409 Black Diamond Road, Wilmington, North Carolina 28411, or to the Greenwood Baptist Church, Daybreak Homeless Ministry.
