Florence Lee Wood Cannon

Florence Lee Wood Cannon, 79, of Byron, Georgia died Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00AM at Union Chapel Evangelistic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, on Friday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and may be contacted at her residence. Mrs. Cannon was a member of Union Chapel Evangelistic Church and attended Lighthouse Community Church in Byron. She had many jobs, including working at Rose's, Crossing Guard at Agnes Barden and lunch lady at Byron Elementary. Her hobbies included word search puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, attending church, game shows, WMAZ News and the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Cannon was predeceased by her husband, Virgil "Bud" Cannon and her son, Gary Meeks. She was the daughter of the late James and Laura Edna Maxwell Wood and was predeceased by her brothers, Chester, Luther and Robert Wood. The family would like to thank the staff of Navicent Health Critical Care Unit for their loving care of Mrs. Cannon. Mrs. Cannon is survived by her children, Billy Weaver (Mary) of Tallahassee, Florida, Bobbi Daughtry (Thomas) of Byron, Sherry Posey (Buddy) of Juliette and Marc Cannon of Cartersville; grandchildren, Lee Bennett of Centerville, Chuck Lee (Ashley) of Warner Robins, Bubba Posey of Forsyth, Alan Bennett of Centerville, Justin Lee of Warner Robins, Ashlee Weaver of Tallahassee, Blake Lee (Renee) of Perry, Kyle Weaver of Tallahassee, Krista Willis (Chase) of Columbus and Timothy Hobby (Elli) of Forsyth; great-grandchildren, Layla, Emmett, Isabella, Noah, Charlie, Austyn and Zachary; sisters, Ann Fountain of Macon and Myrtie Ashley of Dry Branch; sister-in-law, Margaret Wood of Dry Branch; her faithful dog, "Baby".
