Florence Stanfill Layfield

Florence Stanfill Layfield passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe McDaniel and the Reverend Lee Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will greet friends Wednesday, August 24, 2016 between 5:00-7:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mrs. Layfield was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church since 1950 where she taught Sunday School, sang in the Senior Adult Choir, and was a member of Senior Friends, WMU, and Golden Agers. She volunteered at the Save-A-Life Ministry. Mrs. Layfield retired from Blair's Moving and Storage after 33 years of service. She was predeceased by two sisters, and two brothers, Iona Leonard, Zadie Mae Canady, Ormond "Buck" Stanfill, and Fred Stanfill. Survivors include her husband, G. Julian Layfield of Macon; daughter, Jan K. Odom (Mike) of Macon; son, Emory H. Kitchens, Jr. (Latrishia) of Macon; daughter, Julia L. Duke of Frisco, Texas; sister, Marian Misinco of Macon; three grandchildren, Warren Duke (Michelle) of Frisco, Texas, Angela L. Spencer (Steve) of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Emory H.
