F. L. "Tony" Bullington, 94, died Thursday, November 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Lizella United Methodist Church with the Reverend Loran Smith, Reverend Elick Bullington and Dr. Frank McCook officiating. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. Family will greet friends between 3:00-5:00PM on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Family can be reached at 8520 Knoxville Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lizella United Methodist Church, 2920 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, Georgia 31052. Mr. Bullington was born in Gray, Georgia on March 31, 1919 to the late David H. and Mamie Bullington and moved to Lizella, Georgia at the age of five. He attended W.B Redding Elementary School and graduated from Lanier High School for boys in 1937 and GAB School of Commerce in 1939. Tony was employed by Bibb County Commissioners and Southern Cotton Oil Company before being drafted into service during WWII. He was stationed at Headquarters 4th Corps Area Personnel Divison and was a classification and assignment officer. Discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain, Adjutant General Department, he assisted in activating 48th Infantry Division, Georgia National Guard Personnel Division and resigned in 1950 with the rank of Major to return home to Lizella and help with the family farm. Tony worked for Thornton Motor Company and Baker Mayfield before founding Bullington Lift Truck, Inc in 1969.He was member of Lizella United Methodist Church, the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class and was very active in the Western Square Dance movement in Macon. He was a founding member of the Whirl-A-Ways Square Dance Club, member of "Y" Squares at the YWCA and played lead guitar with a local bluegrass band. He retired from Bullington Lift Truck, Inc in 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Edna Vinson Bullington. Survivors include his sons, Francis L. "Toby" Bullington, Jr. (Rhonda), David D. "Danny" Bullington (Suzette), and Eddy Earl Bullington all of Lizella; grandchildren, Debbie Quattrin, Cory Bullington, Dana Bullington Owen, David Bullington, and Casey Bullington; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
