Everly "Jan" Newman

Everly "Jan" Newman, 45 of Lizella, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29,2017 at the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street. Macon, Georgia 31201. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00PM - 7:00PM Tuesday at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Spina Bifida Association P.O. Box 17427 Arlington, Virginia 22216. Jan was born in Reynolds, Georgia. She was a graduate of Southeast High School and volunteered at Westside High School. Jan was an avid lover of country music, wrestling, cartoons, and bowling. She participated in wheelchair basketball and baseball. Jan competed in the International Special Olympics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1983 where she won 2 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals. Jan is survived by her mother, Dianne L. Smith of Lizella; father, David L. Newman of Pembroke, Georgia; sister, Melissa Beck (Doug) of Macon; twin sister, Beverly Fran Moore (Tim) of Lizella; nieces, Brittney Goodwin (Adam) of Macon, Kaitlyn Moore of Lizella, and Elizabeth Beck of Macon; nephews, Caleb "Buddy" Moore of Lizella, and Patrick Beck of Macon; great niece, Emma Kaye Goodwin of Macon; boyfriend, Chris Ousley; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
