Evelyn Jean Norris

March 4, 1926 — October 18, 2009

Macon- Evelyn Jean Norris, formerly of Forsyth, died Sunday, October 18, 2009. A native of Rome, Georgia, Mrs. Norris was the daughter of the late Ernest Lester Culpepper and Mary Edna Daniel Culpepper. She was the widow of Harold Norris and predeceased by son, John Lester Kennedy. After almost 50 years with the Meadors Wall accounting firm, Mrs. Norris enjoyed her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels in Forsyth and visiting her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Guy Culpepper (Alice B.) of Rome GA; sister-in-law, Katherine Kennedy Walden of Macon; daughters, Kathryn Kennedy Rodenbaugh (Phil) of Macon, Lynn Norris Odom (Brian) of Cincinnati, Ohio; step-daughter, Harriett Norris Futch (Henry) of Mondo, SC; grandchildren, Sgt. Brandon B. Ryals, USMC (Marisol), Staff Sgt. Ashley E. Kennedy, US Army (Tina) and Chris Nations; great-grandchildren, Damian Ryals, Conner Kennedy, Trevor Kennedy, Brett Odom and Brice Odom and many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the very special caregivers, including Barbara, Michelle, Judy and Tom, at Flint River who were so attentive to her during Mrs. Norris' illness. Visitation is Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at Hart's. Graveside services for Mrs. Norris are scheduled for 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery, Macon, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. The family will meet friends immediately following the service at 177 Brookstone Way, Macon. Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests donations in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's favorite charity. Online register is located at www.hartsmort.com.
