Eulalia Jeanette Evans "Eukie", 94, entered into new life in Christ August 18. She was the daughter of the late Isabelle and Edmond Solt and was preceded in death by her husband John B. Evans, Jr. and a brother, Allen F. Solt. Born in Washington DC, she spent her early years there and many in Arlington, Virginia before moving to Macon with her husband and family in 1962. A life-long Lutheran, teaching and working with youth was her joy. She was also active in LCW at the local and Synod levels as well as other areas of church ministry in DC, Arlington, and Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Macon, where she was a member for 52 years. Dancing and supporting the Braves also brought enjoyment to her life. Generally, where there was a need you would find "Eukie" willing to serve. "No one knew how big her heart was … but, there was always room for one more." A devoted wife of 56 years, loving mother and mother-in-law, grand and great-grandmother, she is survived by daughters, Arden Key (Ronald), Lynda McCutchen (Charlie); son, Jim Evans (Vonnie); 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a nephew and niece. Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 1:30PM Friday, August 22, 2014 with burial at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:30-7:00PM Thursday at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Donations may be made to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 390 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204 or donor's favorite charity. Register online at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola has charge of arrangements.
