Eugene Harold Stroup

Eugene Harold Stroup, 80, of 5095 Idlewood Drive, died Thursday, August 20, 2015. Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, with the Reverend Jessie Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Stroup was a 1952 graduate of Lanier High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a gold card carrier for the United States Post Office for fifty years and worked for Lab Corp for ten years. Mr. Stroup was predeceased by his wife, Gladys "Joe" Arnold Stroup; father, James Stroup; mother, Nellie Parker Stroup; step-mother, Ava Parker Stroup; and four siblings, J.D. Stroup, Emory Stroup, Maurine Thomas, and Martha Thomas. Mr. Stroup is survived by his son, David (Carolyn) Stroup; grandchildren, James W. Stroup and Kelly L. Stroup; sisters, Margaret Tingley, Carolyn Rhodes, and LaVerne Norris and several nieces and nephews. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
