Ethelena Jackson Brown

Macon-Ethelena Jackson Brown, 96, passed away on June 27, 2011, at home. A private graveside service will be held for family members at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery to be followed by a memorial service at Vineville Baptist Church at 11:00AM with Dr. Tripp Martin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. Mrs. Brown, wife of the late Malcolm Hardy "Pat" Brown, was born in Baconton, Georgia in 1915 to Lena Ethel Bowles and Robert Peacock Jackson. Retired from Bibb County Public Schools, she was active in the community through organizations such as the North Woods Garden Club and the Mary Hammond Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. A longtime member of Vineville Baptist Church, she participated lovingly as a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, XYZ, the Women's Missionary Union, and Round Table. Survivors include daughter, Polly Brown Davis of Sylva, NC, and son-in-law, Tom; son, Malcolm Hardy "Mac" Brown, Jr. of Culloden and daughter-in-law, Beth; grandchildren include Pollyanna Dunn and husband, Mason of Atlanta, Thomas "Tee" Davis and wife, Karen of Sylva, NC; Lisa Goodwin and husband, Jeremy of Forsyth; Michelle Garrison and husband, Allen of Macon; Malcolm Hardy "Trey" Brown, III of Macon, and Sydney Brown of Macon; great grandchildren include Lewis Dunn and Fielding Dunn of Atlanta, Jesse Goodwin and Hannah Goodwin of Forsyth, and Lanier Justice and Lance Rhodes of Macon. She also leaves behind her faithful and loving caregiver, Carolyn Glenn. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory at the Cupola has charge of arrangements.
