Ethel Rearden

Ethel Burnette Greene Rearden passed away November 23, 2012, in a local healthcare facility. Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Highview Cemetery in Gray with the Reverend Joseph D. Greene III officiating. She was the last surviving child of the six children of the late J.A. and Nannie Nelson Burnette. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the graveside. She was predeceased by her first husband of 31 years Joseph D. Greene, Sr. and her second husband of 29 years James F. Rearden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gray where she was a member of the WMU and the Benevolent Committee. She also taught children's Sunday School. She was employed in the clerical postions at Gray Drug Co and the Office of Probate Judge. She retired as secretary of Claiff Middle School in Gray. She will be remembered for her spirited personality and witty sense of humor. She is survived by her children Joseph D. Jr (Danny) and Kathie Greene, Ricky and Nancy Greene Nash, and Al and Pasty Greene; her grandchildren, Anna K. Greene, Joseph D. III and Ashley Greene, Graham W. Nash, Jeffrey M. Nash, and Adam M Greene; and her great-grandchildren Joseph D. Greene, IV and Reynolds Lee Greene; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children Foy and Miriam Rearden, Bob and Lee Rearden Zittle, Allen and Cindi Rearden; and their families. The family would like to express their gratitude to the home caregivers whom she dearly loved- Christy, Sharelle, and Angel- and to the caring and dedicated staff of Gray Health and Rehabilitation.
