Ernest Benton Stephens (Ben) 69, passed away after an extended illness on January 4, 2017 in Macon, Ga. with his family and friends by his side. A native of Dublin, Ga., Ben was a longtime resident of Macon, where he owned and operated American Cycle and Engine, a custom motorcycle paint and repair shop specializing in Harley Davidsons. His attention to detail and perfection is well known in the region. Ben won many awards for his custom paintings and his personal prized motorcycle is now in a museum in Czechoslovakia. Ben is preceded in death by his father E.L. Stephens Jr. of Dublin, Ga. Survivors include his mother Jean Stephens, sister Julie Barnes and niece Anna Barnes all of Conyers, Ga., sister Jeanie Stephens of Blairsville, Ga., son Richard Stephens of Hazlehurst, Ga. and grandchildren Brandon and Haley Stephens.
