Emogene Walton Faircloth

Emogene Walton Faircloth, 97, of Macon, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cupola with the Reverend Eddie Watson officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.  A private burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated and memorial contributions may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Rd, Macon, GA 31220.

Daughter of the late Samuel and Linnie Walton, Mrs. Faircloth completed her GED in her 50s. During WWII, she worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant making bullets.  Mrs. Faircloth was a member of Cherokee Heights and New Heights Baptist Church.  She was involved in WMU at church and volunteered at Macon Rescue Mission. She loved to cook for her family.  Her favorite dessert to make was Italian Cream Cake.  She also loved singing, fishing, canning vegetables, and telling stories about growing up in the depression.

Mrs. Faircloth was preceded in death by her husband, Cleburne Faircloth; son, David Michael Faircloth; grandson, Marcus "Marc" Blake Whitten; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mrs. Faircloth is survived by her children, C. Dwight Faircloth (Bobbie) of Macon, Douglas Faircloth (Linda) of Albany, Georgia, Sandra Joiner (Tommy) of Byron, and Sue Whitten (Rick) of Macon; grandchildren, Todd Faircloth and Chetty Edmondson Faircloth, of Macon, Chris Faircloth (Wendy) of Macon, Jodi Adams (Tim) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Jill Gillespie (Woody) of Huntsville, Alabama, Lori Hallford (Brad) of Albany, Judd Faircloth (Corinne Wullimann) of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Clayton Joiner, Dana Joiner, and Emma Joiner, all of Byron; great grandchildren, Ashley Drake (Tommy), Mallory Justice (Landon), Cole Faircloth (Catherine), Parker Faircloth, Maggie Adams, Anna Adams, May Merrill Gillespie, Haley Hallford, Jack Hallford, and Emma Joiner; and great great grandchild, Knox Whidby.
