Emmalee Wyly Whatley

January 30, 1936 — November 14, 2017

Emmalee Wyly Whatley departed her earthly life on November 14, 2017. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas G. Whatley, with whom she graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth. She was a life-long disciple of Christ and served as a long-time Sunday School teacher at Vineville United Methodist Church. She studied at the University of Georgia where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Education. She was among the most avid of Georgia Bulldogs fans. Her true passions, however, were Jesus Christ and her husband Thomas G. Whatley of Macon. She is survived by her husband, by her son Tom Whatley Jr. and Maliece Whatley of Savannah, son Robert Whatley of Wytheville, Virginia, daughter Rachel and Dwayne Terrell of Macon, her loving grandchildren nieces and nephews. Visitation will occur Thursday at Harts Mortuary on Cherry Street from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Vineville United Methodist Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery. Register online at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
