Elsie Benn, 87, died Thursday, February 9, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the new Sha'arey Israel in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Marc Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. Mrs. Benn was Past President of Congregation Sha'arey Israel. An avid bridge player, she was a life master and member of the Henry Tift Bridge Center. She was involved with charity work her whole life. Survivors include her husband, Israel Benn of Macon; daughter and her husband, Linda and Rabbi Marc Wilson of Greenville, South Carolina; son and his wife, Allan and Kathy Benn of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren and spouses, Heather and Philip Weinstein of Apex, North Carolina, Geoffrey and Laura Binnick of Cary, North Carolina, and Emily Benn of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; two great grandchildren, Talia and Evan Weinstein, both of Apex, North Carolina; and sister and husband, Annette and Adrian Morchower of Chevy Chase, Maryland.
