Ellen Smith Moore, 56, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Vineville Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Kremer officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Family will greet friends between 6:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204, Ronald McDonald House, 1160 Forsyth Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, or donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Moore was a member of Vineville Baptist Church and faithful member of the Kendrick Sunday School class. She was the wife of Milton Moore, Jr. for 25 years, mother of four wonderful daughters, a true Southern lady, and a great alto singer who sang in VBS ensembles. She was a 1976 graduate of Central High School where she was a majorette. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University in 1980 and a Master's degree from Georgia College & State University in 2006. In June 1989 she was appointed as a United States probation officer, a Guideline Specialist in November of 1992, a Supervisor in December 2003, and Chief Probation Officer for the middle district of Georgia on January 1, 2007. Other accomplishments include serving as Chairperson for the Probation Officers Advisory Group to the United States Sentencing Commission and Adjunct Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy in Charleston, South Carolina. Survivors include husband, Milton P. Moore of Macon; four daughters, Rebecca Bache (Max) of McIntyre, Elizabeth Moore of Macon, Jennifer Morgan (Eddie) of Kathleen, and Allison Mitchell (Seth) of Macon; six grandchildren, Logan Bache, Landon Bache, Madison Grace Bache, and Jackson Bache, all of McIntyre, Emma Morgan of Kathleen, and Carson Mitchell of Macon; mother, Pansy Smith of Macon; brother, Kim Allen Smith of Macon; Uncles, Earl Wells (Polly) of Pineview, and Clyde Wells of Pineview; Aunts, Helen Kearce of Sevierville, Tennessee, Annette Rowland (Eugene) of Fort Valley, and Virginia Pierce of Macon; several cousins including Beverly Wells Bloodworth of Tifton and Sheila Wells Benoit of Juliette; and many more relatives and friends.
