Elizabeth Hallum Williams Blanks, 90, died Thursday, March 8, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery. Father David Probst, Christ Episcopal Church, will officiate. Throughout her life, Beth lived, taught, and exhibited true, unconditional love to her 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and everyone she came in contact with. For many years, she was a teacher at Timmy Turtle Nursery for developmentally challenged children but every Sunday she could be found in the nursery of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church holding, rocking, and soothing babies. Beth was a Cub Scout den mother and very active in all aspects of her family's lives as they grew. Her deep abiding love for family and church was reflected in everything she did. Beth was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, J. Randolph Blanks, Sr.. She is survived by her children John R. Blanks, Jr. (Kathryn) of Macon, Virginia B. McDuffie (Sam) of Macon, J. Philip Blanks of Jacksonville, FL, and O. Winchester Blanks of Macon; grandchildren Rand Blanks (Terry), Ashlyn Duncan (Keith), Sam McDuffie (Ryan), Lori Tong (David), Jennifer Stewart (Jeffrey) Laura Waddell (John), Brandi Allen, Adam Blanks (Stacey), and Luke Blanks (Megan); 13 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the loving kindness of the staff at John Wesley Villas. The family may be contacted at 185 Cory Drive and will greet friends and family immediately following the service.
