Elizabeth "Bibbie" Spires Kendrick

January 13, 1935 — January 10, 2019

Bibbie Kendrick was born and lived in Jacksonville, Fl. She attended Andrew Jackson High School where she was voted as Miss Andrew Jackson. Later, she was crowned after the carrier, Miss Lake Champlain.

Mrs. Kendrick married a young Marine, Harold Clark Kendrick, Jr., in 1953 in Kingsland Ga. after a world-wind six-month courtship. They moved to Athens, Ga. after his stint in the service where she worked as the secretary in the Political Science Department as he pursued his studies in forestry from the University of Georgia. Upon graduating in 1960, the family moved to Forsyth, Ga. where she was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church. Bibbie became a Jayceette, played bridge, loved to travel, dance, cook, was an avid Georgia football fan, enjoyed her birthday club and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She had a wonderful sense of humor, had many friends whom she loved, however her favorite hobby was her family with her husband and six children.

She is survived by her husband, “Unk;” six children: Susan Kendrick, Jennifer Hodges, Wade Kendrick (Fran), Georgia Boyd (Ed), Jeff Kendrick (Cristi) and John Kendrick (Eileen); ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13 (her 84 birthday), in the Forsyth United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Maeser. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church.

Hart’s Mortuary of Macon, Georgia has been entrusted with all arrangements: 765 Cherry Street. 478-746-4321.
