Libby, a long-time resident of Macon, lived at The Palms in Jonesboro, Georgia, since 2015 and was crowned Queen of The Palms in 2017. She was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting shut-ins. Libby was a founding member of the Flower Power Ministry. She was known as a prayer warrior, never missing a morning to devote to her Lord and would visit the Prayer Room at church every Tuesday and pray for an hour.
Libby is survived by her children, Robin Thomas Nelson (Richard) of Americus, Georgia, Chuck Thomas (Janet) of Five Points, Alabama, and Johnnie Thomas (Julie) of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Brad Wolfe (Simone) of Mering, Germany, Jeremy Nelson of New York, NY, Melissa Swenson (Eric) of Milton, Georgia, Chad Thomas (Haley) of Forsyth, Georgia, Kyle Simpson (Jessica) of Senoia, Georgia, Haley Martinez (Danny) of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Shelby Remington (Bill) of Camarillo, California, Josh Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Kate Corbitt (Brandon) of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael Hooi (English) of Charleston, South Carolina; nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Felton Fountain (Weida) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Jimmy Fountain (Linda) of Jessup, Georgia; special friends who were visiting at time of passing, Jack and Nani Freeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Libb was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walter Thomas, parents, Cauley Fountain and Selma Kent Crandall, and brother, Frank Fountain.
She loved her family, especially her great grandchildren. She made sure we had an annual "Fountain" family reunion with her brothers and their families so that we all kept close (something that was very important to her mother). She enjoyed her card group friends in Macon and at the Palms. She was a very social person and made friends easily.
She volunteered for years as a Pink Lady at the Medical Center in Macon.
Hart’s on Cherry Street, Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Ga 31201 has charge of the arrangements.
