Eleanor "Ellie" Okulanis

Macon-Eleanor "Ellie" Okulanis died Sunday, June 6, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:00AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Mike Ingram officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 4406, Macon, GA 31208 or Carlyle Place Endowment Fund, 5300 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210. Mrs. Okulanis did a lot of traveling and worked with the American Red Cross on many Air Force bases during World War II. She worked as a purchasing agent for the Traverse City, Michigan school system. She was the Ladies' Golf Champion for two years at Traverse City Country Club. Mrs. Okulanis was a Tri Delta Sorority mother at the University of Missouri and participated in many mother & daughter functions. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Her finest attribute was her love for all people. Mrs. Okulanis is survived by her husband of 69 years, Edwin Okulanis of Macon; three children, Toni, Jan, and Gary; six grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
