Edward Jackson "Jack" Majors

Macon- Edward Jackson "Jack" Majors, 76, of 774 Blanton Boulevard, died Friday, March 18, 2011. Services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00AM at Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Majors was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. He was predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Ann Majors. Mr. Majors attended Mercer University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a former President of the American Business Club and a member of the Macon Exchange Club, Mabel Masonic Lodge #255 and Scottish Rite Temple. He was a former member of Satilla River Club and Healy Point Country Club. Mr. Majors is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Langston Majors of Macon; daughter, Jacqueline Leigh Arwood (Josh) of Atlanta; grandsons, Caleb Leighton Arwood and Collier Benjamin Arwood, both of Atlanta; brother, James Monroe Majors (Bea) of Thomaston and sister, Ruby Jane Bush of Warner Robins.
