Edward ‘Dennis’ Huthnance, 77, of Macon, Georgia passed away on August 19, 2020. He was born August 31, 1942 in Macon, Georgia to the late Edward Dennis Huthnance and Frances Collins Huthnance. A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, 1301 Riverside Drive, Macon, Georgia 31201, Monday, August 24, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
Dennis graduated from Lanier High School in Macon, Georgia. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Georgia Tech College in 1964 and completed his Master’s in Mathematics in 1966. While serving as an Instructor at Georgia Tech under Dr. Daniel Robinson he achieved his Doctorate in 1969. Upon graduation he was a professor at the following institutions: Newberry College in South Carolina, Midwestern State College in Texas, and Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania where he retired in 2004. While employed he not only taught classes but performed research and published papers on many subjects, which included Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics and Cryptography.
He loved music and played the violin, piano, and organ. He was a member of various choirs over the year including the Choral Society of Middle Georgia.
He is survived by many cousins including Collins Hanson and Ginny Ferguson and his live-in caregiver, Albert Yefko.
