Edna Todd Fernandez

Macon-Edna Todd Fernandez, 70, died Saturday, June 26, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00AM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. Laudis Lanford officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hart's at the Cupola on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Donations may be made to Susan G. Mrs. Fernandez, a registered nurse, was recognized for her psychiatric nursing at the University Hospital in Augusta and Coliseum Park Hospital in Macon, and her intensive care nursing at Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta. Mrs. Fernandez was an avid tennis player and was active at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. She was mixed doubles champion with Terry Price for the city of Macon. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading and traveling. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Fernandez Schlottman.

Mrs. Fernandez is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Antonio Fernandez of Macon; two daughters, Robin McCown and her husband Charles of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Kimberly Fernandez of Macon; five grandchildren, Lauren Schlottman of Savannah, Emily Schlottman of Macon, Charles McCown and Lisa McCown, both of Dunwoody, and Elizabeth Cochran of Macon; sister-in-law Irene Daly and her husband Art of Madison, Connecticut; brother-in-law David Fernandez and his wife Doris of York, Pennsylvania; mother-in-law Margaret P. Wall of Macon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
