Edna Florrice Boothe

Macon- Edna Florrice Boothe, 89, of 6190 Peake Road, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverend Rex Odom officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Vernon Radcliffe, Johnny Addison, John Holiday, Watson Mosley, Terry Jones, and Jim Shibley. The family will greet friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384 or to Alzheimer's Association, 277 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Macon, GA 31201. Mrs. Boothe was predeceased by her husband of forty-one years, William Dixon Boothe. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and a former member for more than forty years of East Macon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Boothe wrote her own cookbook and donated proceeds to charity. She enjoyed hosting dinner for friends and she loved to travel. She hosted an annual reunion for her son and his friends from high school and college for thirty-two years. During World War II, Mrs. Boothe had many family members living with her family. Everyone was welcome in her home. She was a tailor for many years. Mrs. Boothe worked at Happ Brothers for more than twenty years. She then retired from Sears twenty-six years later. Mrs. Boothe is survived by her son , Dothan Boothe of Charlotte, NC and his companion JoAnn Duckworth; nephews, Vernon Radcliffe and Johnny Addison, both of Macon; nieces, Sherre Dutton Bell (Mike) of Macon, Janie Tinker of Smith, AL and Joyce Fuller of Byron, GA; many other close cousins.
