Edith Marie Newberry Stokes

Macon- Edith Marie Newberry Stokes, 85, of 1321 Triple Hill Drive, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 3:00PM at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Steve Womack officiating. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends on Thursday from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Mrs. Stokes was a member of St. Andrews Christian Church. She was predeceased by two children, James Edward Stokes and Peggy Sue Ayers. Mrs. Stokes is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Eavenson of Macon, Ruth Byrd of Lizella, Wylene Ross of Dawsonville, Patsy Bates of Kentucky, and Nona Thompson of Ball Ground; son, Frank Stokes of Griffin; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
