Edith Blanche Griffin

Mrs. Edith Blanche Griffin, 81, of Macon formerly of Ocilla, GA passed away February 7, 2009, after a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Harts Mortuary on Cherry Street. Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 2:00 at Ingleside Baptist Church with burial following at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Griffin is pre deceased by one son, Ronald Griffin. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Johnny Griffin; one son, Donny (Teresa) Griffin of Lake City, FL; daughter-in-law, Vickie Griffin of Marietta; brothers, Hollis (Betty Jo) Griffin of Canton, and Shirley (Alleene) Griffin of Macon; grandchildren, Heather, Drew, Ryan, Melanie and James Griffin, Kasey (Margot) Richmond. She is survived by 3 great grandchildren, Raine & River Brooks , Collin Richmond and numerous other relatives. After being a home maker for many years, Edith began a career at GA Farm Bureau Ins. in December 1963, spanning 26 years until her retirement as Director of Underwriting in December 1989. She enjoyed family, friends and baking and was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and Fidelis Sunday School Class of which she served as class president for several years and was a member of the visitation committee.
