Edith "Joyce" Coulter

Mrs. Edith “Joyce” Coulter, 76, of Jones County, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024.  Funeral services will be at Bradley Baptist Church Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1:00PM with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  The family will greet friends at Bradley Baptist Church, Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.   Burial at W.O. Kitchens Family Cemetery on Morris Stevens Road will follow the service.

Joyce was born in Macon to the late W.O. and Mazie Kitchens. Joyce drove a school bus in Jones County for 14 years. She was a founding matriarch of the Jones County Fire Rescue, where she proudly served for over 33 years as a volunteer.  Her favorite and most important role was “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her passion.  Joyce was a faithful Christian and a member of Bradley Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her son, Robert Samuel Coulter, Jr.; and siblings, Bill, Bubba, Sherry and Bet.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bobby” Coulter; daughters, Tammy Coulter, Tonya Knowles (Billy), Tisha Amerson and Terri Robertson (Eric); grandchildren, Stephen Amerson (Victoria), Laura Batchelor (Dillon), Lee Mauldin (Karley), Kyle Knowles (Angela), Kayla Avant (Dustin), Noel Elder (Seth), Emily Robertson, Kolby Knowles, Coulter Robertson, and Kuper Knowles; great-grandchildren, Parker, Brynleigh, Brently, Luke, Ethan, Caden, Kayla, Maddie, Kylee, Jemma, Emberly, Hollis, Hudson, Hayes, Cole, and Johnnie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hart’s Jones County Chapel, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of arrangements.
