On December 25, Eddie Mack was taken by his guardian angel’s hand to Heaven at the age of 81. He was a loving husband and father of three children, PaPa to eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Eddie was born on April 15, 1939, in Oxford, Mississippi to Leslie and Lenell Briscoe. He joined the Air Force in June 1958 and remained until October 1967. He was Airman First Class. Eddie then joined the Macon Police Department from 1968 to 1996. After retiring from Macon, he joined the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. Eddie was a member of Northridge Baptist Church and the Circle of Faith Sunday School Class. He was also a Mason with the Sincerity Lodge #430 in Gray, Georgia.
Eddie was known for his quick wit, joke telling, and infectious smile. His greatest hobbies were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His other hobbies included fishing, hunting, and Nascar racing.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Lenell Briscoe, and his loving grandparents, Marvin and Marie Pierce who raised Eddie. He is survived by the love of his life of 51 years (on December 27th), Beverly W. Jones, three children, Chris (Penny) Ward, Cindy (Keith) Bloodworth, and Tracie (Michael) McMillan. Three brothers Mark (Caren) Briscoe, Bill (Jamie) Briscoe, and Dan (Cynthia) Briscoe, and a sister Donna Briscoe Parchman (Bob). His eight grandchildren Dusty (Tracy) Bloodworth, Danielle (Cam) Ward Ware, Jacob (Christie) Bloodworth, Josh (Anna) Ward, Ethan (Crystal) Bloodworth, Patrick Bloodworth, Chandler McMillan, and Caleigh McMillan, along with nine great grandchildren, six brother-in-laws and nine sister-in-laws. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held December 29, 2020. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. at New City Eastside (formerly Northridge Baptist Church on Gray Hwy Macon, Georgia. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Hamilton and Reverend Chuck Beaver. Private graveside service to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
