Earl Hoyt Devane

Earl Hoyt DeVane of Macon died peacefully May 17, 2018 at the age of 95. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Hart's at the Cupola. The Reverend Chip Strickland will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Mt. Berry College, Advancement Office, P.O. Box 495069, Mt. Berry, GA 30149.

Mr. DeVane, a WWII United States Marine veteran, attended Berry College, Emory University and The University of Georgia, receiving a master’s degree in agricultural research. He was an agronomy researcher in Tifton, Georgia for ten years, then retired from the investment business after forty-six years. Mr. DeVane was a member Riverside United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Karleen Douglas DeVane, three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. DeVane is survived by his daughters, Pam D. Callison (Jerry) of Sylvania, Georgia and Pat D. Burns(Leon) of Forsyth, Georgia; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
