Douglas Langley McClure, 81, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on April 7, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
Doug was born in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Russell McClure and Anna Preston McClure. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired steelworker for Atlantic Steel.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Sherry McClure of Macon; daughter, Penny Griffith of Florida; stepson, Rodney McCart (Beth) of Macon; grandchildren: Jonna Metzger (Chip) of Acworth, Georgia, Lindsey Griffith of Orlando, Florida, Jackson McCart of Macon, and Luke McCart of Macon; great grandchildren: Remi Metzger, Rhett Metzger, River Metzger, and Reynolds Langley Metzger due in July; and sister, Pee Wee Marsh.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Margaret McClure; and siblings: Jean Perkins, Jimmy McClure, Carl McClure, Joyce Conley, and Jesse McClure.
