George Douglas (Doug) Norman, 46, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. There will be a visitation at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola Monday, March 6, 2017, from 5-7 PM and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Northway Church. The Reverend Kevin Mills will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Northway Church, 5915 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Doug's passions were his wife, children, martial arts, and wilderness survival. He was an avid outdoorsman and a survival and primitive tracking skills expert. He had obtained the 10th dan in the Bujinkan Martial Arts System and was a recipient of the Bujinkan Gold Medal award. He was a specialist in executive protection and was a private investigator. Everyone who knew him describes him as an all-around badass with a PhD in sarcasm. Doug is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rayleen Norman of Macon; 15 year old twin sons: Landon and Logan Norman; father: Jeff Norman and his wife, Sheila Clayton, of Roxboro, North Carolina; brother: Kevin Norman and his wife Cindy, of Adel, Georgia; brother Jason Stripling and his wife, Claire, of Winder, Georgia; sister: Ashley Solomon and her husband, Tyler, of Roxboro, North Carolina; sister-in-law: Lisa Gardner and her husband, Travis, of Hillsville, Virginia; nieces and nephews: Noah Norman, Katie Norman, Aubrey Stripling, Edie Stripling, Jackson Solomon, Gavin Solomon, Daniel Myers, Grace Myers, Paul Gardner, and Katie Gardner; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
