Macon-Dorothy Louise Waldron Southerland, age 88, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at her home. Burial service will be private. Dottie was born March 30, 1920 in East Palatka, FL to Henry Christopher and Hattie Catherine Douglas Waldron and lived most of her life in Macon. She retired in 1980 after 25 years with C&S National Bank. Dottie loved to read and enjoyed afternoons on her deck with her family. She was a wonderful cook and a selfless and loving support for all her family. She was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. Dottie was the widow of W. Floyd Southerland and was predeceased by her sister, Doris Anderson. She is survived by her sons, Ron Southerland and Dick (Sandra) Southerland of Macon; her grandchildren, Chris (Cindy) Southerland of Locust Grove, GA, Sandy (Kerry) Keeton of Macon, and Will (Stephanie) Southerland of Brandenton, FL; and her great grandchildren Brittany and Kirsten Drawhorn, Katie Southerland, and Jackson and Andrew Southerland; and several nieces and nephews. Jesus, in His humanity, wept at the death of a saint. The angels, in their holiness, rejoice at the death of a saint. We, in our humanity, taste the bitterness of loss draped with the sweet perfume of salvation. Now, we see through the glass dimly… then we shall see Him clearly, suffused with His blinding light of endless love for those He calls His own. Please sign the online registry at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory at the Cupola has charge of arrangements.
