Dorothy Marie Trent Wright-Wilkie

March 1, 1936 — February 4, 2022

Macon

Dorothy Marie Trent Wright-Wilkie, 85 died on February 4, 2022, in Macon, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. “Dot “was born in Roanoke, Virginia on March 1, 1936. She was the daughter of Martha Irvin Trent and James Herman Trent.

Dot married her first love, Frederick Lewis Wright, with whom she raised their four children: Frederick Lewis Wright II (Suzanne), James Steven Wright (Annette), Susan Wright McCaskill (Charlie), and Michael Irvin Wright (Bob Glascock), all of whom survive her. Later in life, she married, and is survived by, Eugene Talmadge Wilkie.

Dot was known as “Mimi” to her six grandchildren Chad McCaskill (Allison), Jennifer McCaskill (Richie Paula), Lauren Holcomb (Alan), Emily Wright, Katharine McCaskill, and Jake Wright and her six great-grandchildren, Isabelle McCaskill, Boss McCaskill, Emma Perry, Alice Perry, William Holcomb, and Caroline Holcomb all of whom she adored and survive her. She is also survived by her brother, James Marsden Trent (Sondra) of Richmond, Virginia.

Dot was the epitome of fierce determination. She had incredible success in business and considered “it can’t be done” a worthy challenge to be proven wrong. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, eccentrics, animal lovers, unpretentious people of acclaim, and most of all, her family. Dot started her business career selling World Book encyclopedias door-to-door, eventually owned several businesses, and was a powerhouse in metro Atlanta real estate. She won too many awards to list, but was the recipient of the Prudential Real Estate Legends Award. She was most proud to have been known as a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Dot never met a stranger.

In her memory, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Organization (alz.org) and/or participating in the Emory Healthy Brain Study (https://healthyaging.emory.edu/ehbs/) to find methods for early detection, treatment, and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Hart’s at the Cupola, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210 has charge of the arrangements.
