Dorothy "Dot" Elder

Dorothy "Dot" Elder, 92, died Monday, May 2, 2016. Memorial services will held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 3:00PM at the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. The family will greet friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2:00PM until 3:00PM with a reception following the service. Burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Kitty Cat Rescue, 1432 Riverside Drive Macon, Georgia 31201. Ms. Elder was born in Garfield, Georgia and had lived in Macon most of her life. She was the daughter of the late A. J. Cowart and the late Lela Cowart Stevenson. Ms. Elder was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Rex Elder; her twin sister, Doris Post and her sister, Mildred Padgett. She graduated from Garfield High School, Georgia-Alabama Business School and attended Andrews College. Ms. Elder worked at Robins Air Force Base and retired from SunTrust Bank and State Court of Bibb County Solicitor's Office. Ms. Elder is survived by two daughters, Terry (Bob) Miller of Marietta, Georgia and Jan (Glenn) Young of Athens, Georgia; grandson, Everett Young of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; sister, Louise Sullivan of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
