Dorothy Marie Chasteen Morgan

Dorothy Marie Chasteen Morgan, 81, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Lanny Earley will officiate. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Hart’s at the Cupola on Peake Road in Macon.

Mrs. Morgan, a proper southern belle born to the late Arvis Chasteen and the late Grace C. Bartlett in Piedmont, Alabama, was a retired accountant from Robins Air Force Base. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and was very active in her Sunday School Class and a longtime teacher of the Joy Sunday School Class. Among her favorite things to do in life was baking, decorating, travel, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughter, Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was an excellent southern cook and loved to share her cakes. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Morgan; daughter, Darla Marie Morgan; sister, Charlene Chasteen; brothers David Bartlett and Wayne Bartlett.

Mrs. Morgan’s memory will forever be cherished by her family; a son, Mark Morgan (Janet Wolfe) of Milledgeville; a daughter, Dawn Morgan Burgamy (Kenny) of Macon; a granddaughter, Morgan Burgamy Adams (Jonathan) of Macon; and sister, Evelyn C. Cannon of Monroe, Georgia.
